Here is a general list of bell sizes to help you determine which size is best to use. This is only a general guideline as there are really small tiercels and really large tiercels, really small hens and really large hens so just try to use your best judgement. Ask the maker which size is best as some makers like Counce, size them backwards!!!
Size 0:
tends to be for a tiercel Spar, Coop's or a small species tiercel falcon such as the Barbary Peregrine.
Size 1:
tends to be for Merlins, hen Spar or medium size tiercel falcons like a tiercel Peregrine or Prairie.
Size 2:
is also for the same species listed for Size 1.
Size 3:
tends to be for hen Coop's, any medium size tiercel falcon or tiercel Harris' hawks or Gos.
Size 4:
is also for the same species listed for Size 3.
Size 5:
tends to be for hen Gos, Harris' Hawks, Red-Tails or the larger falcons such as a large hen Peregrine or large hen Prairie.
Size 6:
is also for the same species listed for Size 5.
Size 7:
tends to be for the larger hen Gos, Harris' Hawks, Red-Tails or the larger falcons such as a really large hen Peregrine or really large hen Prairie that may be around 32 ounces.
Size 8:
is also for the same species listed for Size 7.
Size 9:
tend to be for the same species listed for Size 7 and 8 but are also for the large Gyr falcons, Ferruginous Hawks and Eagles.
