Obviously the "bible" is North American Falconry and Hunting Hawks. Quite frankly I think it is way too long. I am not a "reader" though and I think they should have many, many more pics and paintings of birds in there to help keep the interest of the reader; for someone like me that doesn't like to read! LOL

You(Eddie) beat me to that one. Caution though to anyone who reads this book as it is rather dated, and is of course as Eddie says the 'Bible' of falconry per se. The reason I say caution is because it is usually hard to find and expensive. My copy, old as it is cost me well over $100.00, but I collect books too. The other reason I caution anyone about it is that some of the laws have changed in dealing with certain species, and this must be taken into account if you are new to falconry. One of the attractive draws of this book is that it is a very complete treatise on the training of many different falcons. This book also seems to have been written at the twilight of flying the Prairie falcon as well. It however does not have as much practical information on the red-tails as I would have liked. Excellent though for any collection.
