Those look nice, I also zip tied my bell to the anklets. Are those Counce bells? Also what kind of jesses are those? Hunting or just mews jesses and what are they made of?

Thanks... Yeah they are crounce bells.. and indeed the right one has a crack in it, but it's still working...
They are both mews and hunting jesses.. They are braided dacron... I just pull the knots thru the slits and create a slipnot around the grommet, it works well.. the vendor (and creator of the system) showed me that trick.

Be careful with that jess arrangement. As we all know it is easy for a bird to get the slit of the jesses caught on sticks and bushes but it is just as dangerous having the "knot" of the dacron jesses (also parachute cord jesses) hanging down because the knots can catch in the fork of twigs and branches as well which can cause a broken leg or if it is a big bush can blind the bird from the sudden stop which pulls them face first into the bush!

true of course but in reality flying with any leg stuff can be a danger, you just have to minimize the threat as best as possible, even a jess without a hole, slit, anything can wrap around a branch or anything.
^.^ The safest way to fly a bird would be sans all equipment lol

I remove the jesses completely when I let my birds fly after they are fully trained and killing. The first several field flights/hunts I leave them on but after that I remove them.
