I know most people use the traditional style leash and swivel arragement but I use an Arab style. It is super strong and MUCH easier to undo and do back up in the winter when your fingers are cold. Here are pics showing how it works: Put the blue arab part over your free hand and grab your jess straps. Grab the pull tab and pull the jess straps through the blue arab part. Flip the jess straps around the back part of the blue arab part so the jess straps make a small "loop". With the ends of the jesses, push them through the "loop" you just made with the jesses. Pull the tips of the jesses tight and then push up on the "knot" so it is close to the Pull Tab, pull on the jess tips again to make sure the jess straps are tight against the blue arab leash. To undo the jesses, hold onto the blue Pull Tab, grab the "knot" of the jesses with your free hand and pull downwards a little bit to loosen and pull the jesses out of the "knot" then remove the arab part. Much easier than fumbling with a swivel and leash with cold or frozen fingers and the traditional arrangement is nearly impossible to work with if you're wearing gloves! The other good thing about this set up is each time the bird bates, the jesses get tighter and tighter.
