Probably what shocked me the most is one of my prairie falcons, Cranky, refused to wait on once she was intermewed. At that point I was letting her bolt from the fist at winged quarry but one day she bolted and took a cottontail! It was awsome and she ended up being one of the best "rabbit hawkers" I've ever had!

I wish we had more prairie falcons here in western Iowa. Very seldom is one seen. In the geographic area were I live the RT is the best bird for the terrain. Our area is full of rabbits and pheasants.I think it would be great flying a prairie falcon in some of the areas here were there are fields which have no perching areas for the RT. A lot of those fields are just full of cottontails and pheasants.

Sounds like a prairie would do great with your open space to fly a long-wing and with having so many pheasants!
