Micro Hawking Meet (Formerly called Winterfest)
When: December 15, 2007
Where: Utah/Rush Valley
Time: 9:00 a.m.
Comments: Specifically for the American Kestrels, Merlins, Sharpy's/Muskets, Cooper's and small hybred falcons.
Guides will be provided for "out-of-towners" so you know where to go and how to get back.
Those interested in attending should meet in front of the Hutchings Museum in Lehi. The address is:
55 North Center St. Lehi, UT 84043
You can look up the map on google maps or mapquest. Just take the Lehi Main Street exit off of I-15 and head West. Turn Right (North) on Center Street. You will see a big adobe building with flags. That is the museum. Be there at 9:00 AM.
The intent of this days meet is to fly small birds such as Merlins, Kestrels, small hybrids, Coopers and Sharp-shins. We have areas with flocks and single flushes suitable for all consisting of starlings, sparrows and feral pigeons.
But, we want to keep this open to everyone. If you are a rabbit hawker and want some flushers please show up with your bird and go out as a group. Those flying big falcons are welcome as well.
Bring your micro hawk even if it is new and just coming to the lure or needs some socialization. This kind of meet is always more fun with more birds. Share your knowledge and your stories and come ready to make some new friends.
